Quality Assurance Engineer

Butler Aerospace & Defense . 12 month contract Candidate selected will work at the Chelmsford, MA facility for badging and training (2–3 weeks). After training, the contractor will work full time at Nashua, NH 03060. Working flexible hours and traveling across the United States to support suppliers is required. Responsibilities Collaborate with internal quality, engineering, and manufacturing functions and suppliers to ensure quality standards and product requirements are met. Ensure supplier contract requirements are implemented and verified. Monitor quality control activities and systems at supplier facilities and maintain feedback loops. Perform source inspections (in process and final), first articles, manufacturing process validations, source surveillance, and special process audits as applicable. Provide internal and supplier support for root‑cause and corrective/preventive actions related to supplier discrepancies. Support supplier failure investigations as required. Control supplier nonconforming items, conduct analyses, and monitor effectiveness of corrective actions at suppliers. Drive down risk to the product and customer through continuous improvement and a proactive mindset. Qualifications 6+ years of electronics experience. 6+ years of supplier management experience. 6+ years of supplier quality experience. 6+ years of experience in supply chain. 6+ years of experience in relationship building. 6+ years as a team player. 6+ years of electrical testing experience. 6+ years of quality assurance/quality control experience. 6+ years of experience with quality management systems (QMS). Desired Skills Aerospace experience. Electronics manufacturing and testing experience. Technical degree at the bachelor level or above from an accredited college. Experience working with complex machined parts, electrical and electronic assemblies. Strong understanding of how to manage and interface with suppliers daily to support the program. Understanding of the MFC SAP and Procure to Pay (P2P) business systems. ASQ Certification (CQE, CQA, CQIA). Experience with source inspection, special process surveys, purchase order reviews and surveillance activities at suppliers. Demonstrated leadership and customer relationship management skills.
