Field Services Technician III - On Site Services Vineyard Wind
Overview As an Offshore Wind Technician, you will work with site leadership to execute contractual obligations and support maintenance, repair, and operation of electrical and mechanical equipment used in GE wind turbine generators.
Responsibilities
Work with site leadership to fulfill customer requirements and daily activities for electrical and mechanical equipment used in GE wind turbine generators.
Perform maintenance, repair, or replacement of parts to correct malfunctions.
Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable pitch and variable speed turbines.
Assist in all areas of site operations as directed by the manager with minimal supervision.
Perform diagnostic electrical analysis.
Document all work performed using computer-based service reporting procedures.
Coordinate with GE’s remote operations center when necessary.
Qualifications/Requirements
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Wind Technician.
Minimum of 3 years of work experience troubleshooting including hydraulic and electrical systems, experience using power hydraulic tools, and passing a Technical Knowledge Assessment; basic computer skills.
Past leadership of field teams.
Eligibility Requirements
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Ability to handle repetitive lifting (up to 50 lbs) and climb towers up to 300 feet daily.
Meet manufacturer weight limits not to exceed 300 lbs including required gear.
Understand electrical schematic drawings, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations.
Willingness to work in environments including industrial, manufacturing, and power facilities.
Flexibility to work rotating shifts and be on-call per site needs.
