Demonstrates knowledge of the rules and fundamental skills and techniques, as well as the advanced techniques needed for the specific sport. Instills commitment, discipline, and teamwork and follows the CIF/CCS Coaches Code of Conduct and the BVAL Coaches Code of Conduct. Works/communicates with parents, students, staff and the community. Oversees the program at all levels within the sport as the Head Varsity coach. Organizes practices and designs an appropriate conditioning program for the sport. Maintains and inventories equipment and uniforms to ensure student safety and minimize loss. Follows district guidelines and policies; collaborates with parent groups, administrators, staff and students. Helps students balance a demanding academic workload with athletic commitments. Demonstrates ability to work with diverse groups and communicate effectively with the community. Minimum Qualifications
Playing experience in the sport at high school, collegiate, amateur or professional levels. High school coaching experience at the Junior Varsity level or in youth leagues/middle school in the same sport, or equivalent experience. Current State of California coaching certifications. Current certification required by East Side Union High School District, including but not limited to annual mandated reporter training. Must pass District Fingerprint clearance. Must complete Edjoin online application, and submit a Cover Letter and Resume. Selected candidates must pass fingerprint clearance and provide current TB test results, valid CPR certification, valid First Aid certification, ASEP certification, Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) Certification, Heat Illness Prevention Certificate, Mandated Reporter training, Sexual Harassment training, Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Prevention, Integrated Pest Management and Concussion certification prior to employment. Coach of Second Team (same season – 50% over Category I, II or III) – compensation is conditional on participation in the sports season. Letter of Introduction and Resume are required. Comments and Other Information: compensation is conditional on lifting of restrictions and team participation in Fall, Winter, and Spring Sports seasons.
