Assistant Director, Recruitment & Counseling What’s our need? The Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Seattle Pacific University is seeking an Assistant Director for Recruitment and Admissions to lead our team of freshmen and transfer admissions counselors. This strategic role is responsible for supervising the recruitment team, managing key admissions functions, and helping shape university messaging to attract and enroll students who are a strong fit for SPU's academic offerings and Christian mission. What will you do? Hire, train, and supervise a team of admissions counselors, ensuring they are equipped to represent SPU with professionalism, cultural responsiveness, and clarity of mission. Oversee the team’s productivity, performance, and travel assignments to ensure coverage and effectiveness in key geographic areas. Manage a portion of the freshman recruitment budget and oversee travel publications in coordination with University Communications. Serve as a strategic leader and liaison for marketing efforts, new student publications, digital content, and advertising. Build strong relationships with prospective students—particularly those from ethnically underrepresented backgrounds—and with internal campus partners who support enrollment efforts. Represent Admissions on university-wide committees and events such as New Student Advising and Orientation. Conduct prospective student interviews and travel to assigned recruitment territories to engage high schools, community colleges, churches, and para-church organizations. Use Slate (CRM) to manage communications, analyze performance data, and implement recruitment strategies. Collaborate closely with the AVP for Undergraduate Admissions and the Admissions Leadership Team to shape and implement enrollment and scholarship strategies. What will you bring? At least three years of experience in higher education enrollment, including five years of team supervision. Demonstrated marketing experience in higher education or a related field. A valid driver's license and the ability to travel regionally. Strong leadership, planning, and interpersonal skills, with a track record of motivating teams and achieving enrollment goals. A commitment to and ability to clearly articulate SPU's Christian mission and values in all aspects of your work. You have a personal commitment to Christian faith, enthusiasm about supporting SPU's mission, alignment with the University's Statement of Faith, and willingness to accept the lifestyle standards of the Christian community. Preferred qualifications include : Experience in Christian higher education. Education or industry experience in marketing or enrollment management. Why SPU?
