Job Summary Under the general direction of the Program Supervisor and the Pediatric Cardiology Director of Cardiac MRI, the Program Coordinator must be able to perform and prioritize multiple tasks and work well with staff and faculty in a complex environment. A high degree of independence, initiative, assertiveness, and diplomacy are required. The position will provide analytical support for the Pediatric Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Program, UCSF’s Center for Advanced 3D+ Technologies (CA3D+), and other clinical support as needed, and will identify and implement operational improvements to ensure high quality service to patients.
Responsibilities
Implement and monitor the operations of the Pediatric Cardiac MRI program, including clinical scheduling, insurance authorizations, documentation, financial reporting, IT systems, facilities and procedure compliance.
Provide analytical and practice support for Cardiac and 3D+ practices.
Collaborate with staff, faculty, and external providers to ensure clinical workflows meet standards.
Develop and maintain operational processes to improve service quality.
Assist in compliance with regulatory, accreditation, licensing, and other policy requirements.
Required Qualifications
Three years of relevant experience.
Knowledge of ambulatory care clinic practice management including patient care workflows and processes.
Proven ability to apply knowledge of medical center policies and procedures and related legislative, accreditation, licensing, and compliance environments to assess and monitor clinic operations.
Excellent communication skills, active listening, critical thinking, and clear concise communication of clinic content, rules and regulations.
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work productively with diverse colleagues.
Ability to see projects through to completion on deadline, with high quality and consistency.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; skills in data management and healthcare operations technology, including billing systems and medical record documentation.
Thorough knowledge of data management and documentation methods used in ambulatory care clinics.
Bachelor’s degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience or training.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with medical terminology and clinical knowledge of practice area.
Previous experience (1–2 years) in an outpatient clinical or radiology environment working directly with patients and physicians.
Location San Francisco, CA – Mission Bay (SF); fully on‑site, Monday‑Friday 8 hrs/day.
