Position Summary:
Wright State University’s Boonshoft School of Medicine and Premier Health are seeking an experienced educator and leader to serve as the Infectious Disease Program Director. The role requires oversight of the fellowship program, including curriculum development, faculty oversight, accreditation compliance, recruitment, and fostering a positive learning environment. The director will work closely with Graduate Medical Education leadership to ensure program excellence and alignment with institutional missions of exceptional patient care, research, and education.
Minimum Qualifications:
Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) with board certification in Infectious Disease.
At least 10 years of clinical experience and a minimum of 5 years in medical education or administrative leadership.
Active medical license.
Comprehensive knowledge of ACGME standards and graduate medical education regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in research and academic medicine.
Previous leadership roles within residency or fellowship programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, manage, develop, and oversee day‑to‑day operations of the Infectious Disease fellowship program.
Ensure compliance with ACGME standards, institutional policies, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain high‑quality clinical activity and professionalism.
Recruit high‑quality fellowship candidates; participate in interviews and selection.
Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that fosters fellow growth and board certification readiness.
Mentor and support medical students, fellows, and faculty, encouraging professional development in a collaborative environment.
Monitor fellow performance, providing feedback to ensure competency milestones are achieved.
Foster a culture of academic excellence, professionalism, and patient‑centered care.
Serve as a liaison between the program, the medical community, and stakeholders.
Collaborate with partner institutions to capitalize on clinical experience and unique patient populations.
Coordinate with other departments and program directors to ensure cohesive residency and fellowship education.
Participate in continuous improvement and evaluation of the fellowship program.
