Pay Range Base pay range: $123,077.00/yr - $400,000.00/yr
Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval includes award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.
Qualifications
United States Citizenship : Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
Degree : Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree in medicine or osteopathic medicine from a VA-approved school.
License : Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or District of Columbia.
Residency Training : Completed residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to board certification.
Resident eligibility as Physician Resident Providers (PRPs) with intermittent or fee-basis; PRPs must have a fully licensed physician status.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Preferred Experience: Strong work ethic, integrity, kindness, and empathy; American Board of Anesthesiology certification or eligibility; teaching and QI/PI experience; commitment to public service; ability to communicate professionally with diverse providers.
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform rapid mental and muscular coordination, assist with patient lifting, perform pain procedures, and maintain emotional/mental stability.
Duties (Responsibilities)
Evaluate pain patients in outpatient and inpatient settings.
Perform interventional pain procedures (epidurals, radiofrequency ablations, joint injections, sympathetic blocks, neurolytic blocks, spinal cord stimulator therapy, intrathecal pump therapy, etc.).
Manage acute, inpatient, and cancer pain with consultation and regional anesthesia techniques.
Possibility to provide general anesthesia services as needed.
Participate in clinical teaching of medical students, residents, fellows, and other VA providers.
