Job Purpose and Summary Pharmacy Managers cultivate a culture of excellence in their respective pharmacies, serving as role models and leading teams in providing exceptional patient care. They champion best practices, manage change, and address performance opportunities while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Live CVS Purpose by managing and improving patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunization practices.

Oversee bench shifts, coaching the pharmacy team to achieve performance measures.

Ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment and enforce workflow procedures.

Provide compassionate patient experiences, resolve insurance and medication issues.

Offer and deliver immunizations; develop Pharmacy Technician immunization skills.

Manage inventory practices, protecting cold‑chain products.

Conduct onboarding for new Technicians and Pharmacists, ensuring timely training and licensure.

Maintain compliance with Board of Pharmacy regulations and coordinate with Rx DL as needed.

Partner with Store Manager to build a talent pipeline of cross‑trained pharmacy colleagues.

Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists, delivering performance reviews.

Adapt scheduling to business needs and manage pharmacy schedules.

Analyze business reporting, develop action plans for workflow, service, patient care, and compliance.

Foster a culture of safety, empowerment and inclusion, building psychological safety.

Maintain clinical and technical skills; pursue required trainings and CMEs.

Support clinical care services (testing, prescribing) where permissible.

Comply with all federal, state laws, professional standards and CVS policies.

Required Qualifications

Active Pharmacist License in the state of the store.

Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).

Not listed on the DEA Excluded Parties list.

1‑2 years of experience as a Pharmacist.

Essential Functions

Regular, predictable attendance including nights and weekends.

Complete required training within designated timeframe.

Mathematical reasoning for accurate dispensing and labeling.

Strong customer service, communication, and teamwork orientation.

Problem resolution and decision‑making skills.

Physical demands: mobility, lifting, repetitive finger use, and prolonged standing.

Leadership abilities: coaching, feedback, delegation, and team motivation.

Additional tasks as directed by Supervisor.

Preferred Qualifications

Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM‑EL) program.

3‑5 years of related pharmacy, retail, medical or customer service experience.

Ability to work across the market to meet business needs.

Work Details

Anticipated weekly hours: 38

Time type: Full‑time

Pay range:

$65.00 – $78.00

per hour (base). Eligible for bonus, commission or other incentives.
