Southeast Regional Business Development Director. In the role of the Regional Business Development Director you’ll have the power of nearly 1,500 technical professionals focused on managing Earth’s ultimate resource – water. You’ll develop unique strategies and identify team synergies to solve the most complex challenges facing our clients. You will build strong relationships with HDR’s clients in the water planning and design industry and leverage our professionals to solve their challenges. This position is focused on net fee booked metrics to drive growth in HDR’s Southeast Market and across Water Business Group sectors. You will report to the East Region Water Business Group Director and will maintain the strategic perspective to develop, communicate, and implement market sector initiatives and strategies. The role coordinates and supports the execution of market sector plans across four Market Sectors: Drinking Water, Federal Water, Wastewater, Water Resources, with Major Campaigns and strategic pursuit opportunities planned for future years. Responsibilities

Path to Goal – In coordination with the Director of Business Development, identify, monitor and support attainment of the Regional net fee booked plan using the Path to Goal concept to drive consistent communication across the Water organization. Strategic Client Development Leadership & Assistance – Assist and collaborate with Water leadership in the definition and engagement strategy for Region clients. Strategic and Sector Pursuit Leadership / Major Campaign Coordination – Lead Major Campaigns in the $5–$20M range; drive the identification, development and qualification of potential Regional Major Campaign opportunities. Strategic Initiative Development – Engage Market Sector/Area Client Development staff in the development and execution of key market sector initiatives identified during strategic planning and annual alignment meetings. Alignment of Resources – Coordinate the alignment of internal resources to the needs of clients and the achievement of Path to Goal. Secondary Responsibilities – NFB and Marketing Cost Tracking – Monitor and communicate progress toward period and annual net fee book bookings goals; work with operational leadership to observe trends and adjust projections to meet year-over-year goals and cost targets. Other Initiatives – Strategic Planning and Controlling; assist in development of annual planning and monitor regional operational metrics. Staffing – Assist in prioritization of strategic hires and recruitment of candidates. Location – This position can be located in any established HDR office in the defined Southeast Region. Qualifications

Local candidates are preferred Experience in developing and supporting implementation of growth strategies Proven skillset to develop and manage the marketing and business development teams in the Southeast Region (NC, SC, GA/AL, KY/TN, FL/PR) Required Qualifications

A minimum of 15 years relevant industry experience Self-starter with a history of completing projects with limited oversight Deep knowledge of the A/E/C industry’s standard procurement approach for professional services Ability to motivate and inspire others; ability to build a network of clients and industry partners Experience in sales and developing effective win strategies Strong financial acumen and negotiation skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Willingness and ability to travel and engage in person Experience in growing programs in new or highly competitive markets Experience in winning high-value contracts in the A/E/C industry Experience in writing compelling content based on information from technical staff Equal Employment Opportunity
