Job Overview The Regional Business Development Director will drive net fee booked growth across HDR’s Southeast Region, building strong client relationships and leading strategic market initiatives within the Water Business Group.
Responsibilities
In coordination with the Director of Business Development, identify, monitor and support attainment of the Regional net fee booked plan using the Path to Goal concept to ensure consistent communication across the Water organization.
Assist and collaborate with Water leadership to define and engage strategy for clients within the Region.
Provide primary leadership of Major Campaigns in the $5‑$20 M range, driving the identification, development and qualification of potential Regional major campaign opportunities.
Engage Market Sector/Area Client Development staff to develop and execute key market sector initiatives identified during strategic planning and annual alignment meetings.
Coordinate the alignment of internal resources to client needs and the “Path to Goal” objectives.
Monitor and communicate progress toward period and annual net fee book booking goals, collaborating with operational leadership to adjust projections and achieve year‑over‑year targets.
Assist in monitoring operational metrics for the Region as required.
Participate in strategic hiring, prioritization, and recruitment of top talent.
Assist in developing the annual strategic planning effort and other high‑priority initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
Local candidates preferred.
Experience developing and supporting the implementation of growth strategies.
Proven skillset to develop and manage the marketing and business development teams across five separate southeast territories.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 15 years relevant industry experience.
Self‑starter with a history of completing projects with limited oversight.
Deep knowledge of the A/E/C industry’s standard approach to procurement of professional services.
Strong financial acumen and negotiation skills.
Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to travel and engage with clients in person.
Experience growing programs in new or highly competitive markets.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience winning high‑value contracts in the A/E/C industry.
Ability to write compelling content based on technical staff information.
Location Primary: United States – Georgia – Atlanta. Other locations within the Southeast Region: North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Arkansas, Kentucky, Alabama, and Puerto Rico.
Employment Full‑time, regular employee status, Marketing and Admin business class.
Compensation $238,000.00 – $357,000.00 per year (base salary).
