This role will support the company’s mission to deliver top laboratory technology, instrumentation, consumables and services to scientific, clinical and industrial customers worldwide.
Business Development Director - Responsibilities
Define and execute a region-specific commercial growth plan aligned to global strategy, focusing on laboratory science instruments, consumables and services
Identify and cultivate new client opportunities - from biotech, pharma, diagnostics, and research institutions - and build strategic partnerships to drive revenue and market share
Lead contract negotiations, pricing strategy, and value-based positioning across complex service and product offerings
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Technical Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Service, Logistics) to craft tailored solutions and competitive proposals
Maintain and manage a robust pipeline, deliver accurate forecasts, update CRM systems, and report performance to senior leadership
Act as brand ambassador at major industry conferences, trade shows and partnering events in the U.S. West region
Monitor and analyse market trends, competitor activities and customer needs to refine offering and drive differentiation
Business Development Director - Requirements
8+ years of business development, sales leadership or strategic account management experience in laboratory science, life sciences instrumentation, or heavily technical product/service environments
Proven track record of securing high-value contracts and driving growth in the U.S. West region (or equivalent territory)
Strong commercial acumen with ability to translate technical / scientific product capabilities into compelling customer value propositions
Excellent negotiation, presentation and stakeholder management skills at senior client and global team levels
Comfortable working in a hybrid model with field presence, travel across region, and interaction with internal and external global stakeholders
Located on the U.S. West Coast (or willing to relocate); legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required
