Base pay range:

$80,000.00/yr – $98,000.00/yr

Job Description The Director of Assisted Living (DoAL) serves as the leader of the Assisted Living program, sharing responsibility for the success of the community through day‑to‑day department operations. The DoAL directs, coordinates, implements, and evaluates the assisted living program and budget, completes resident assessments, and develops care plans. The role acts as a liaison between healthcare providers, hospital personnel, community organizations, and other related services. The DoAL works with the Executive Director and HR business partner on hiring, staff evaluations, merit increases, disciplinary actions, and terminations, while ensuring adherence to organizational policies, applicable laws, and regulations.

Essential Duties

Demonstrate teamwork by sharing resident service responsibilities with all team members.

Participate in departmental and community meetings and projects as directed by the Executive Director.

Work closely with the Enliven Director to oversee the care of Enliven residents.

Collaborate with the sales team to conduct pre‑move‑in resident assessments and identify the needs of potential residents.

Develop and update resident service plans that include person‑centered approaches and interventions to determine resident care level.

Communicate and coordinate care with residents’ responsible parties/POA, healthcare providers, pharmacists, and medical personnel.

Maintain ongoing communication with responsible parties, fostering a positive family relationship and ensuring resident needs are met.

Facilitate resident assessment and service plan meetings with the Executive Director.

Collaborate with the Business Office to review Level of Care charges, ensuring continuity between the service plan program and billing program.

Implement established policies, procedures, and performance standards; monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for daily operations.

Recruit, interview, hire, and supervise staff and club coordinators; participate in staff orientation and verify training completion.

Review and complete Incident Reports and conduct investigations as needed.

Supervise medication administration and/or assistance with self‑administration of medication programs, including storage, distribution, and discontinuation of residents’ medication within state‑law scope.

Support resident‑centered wellness and activity programs.

Maintain confidentiality, compliance, and understanding of residents’ and employee rights.

Maintain ongoing compliance with local, state, federal, regulatory, and accrediting body standards.

Maintain a professional appearance, manner, and approach at all times.

Provide oversight of the Club Program, identify potential residents, and coordinate participation with residents/responsible parties.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Current LVN license.

Experience in the health, human services, and/or community services field.

Understanding of the aging process and ability to communicate effectively with seniors.

Strong organizational and time‑management skills; consistent and regular attendance.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to hire, direct, and manage personnel.

Knowledge of current State regulations, Nurse Practice Acts, and compliance processes (e.g., OSHA, EPA).

Ability to present information and respond to questions from clients, customers, and the public.

High degree of interpersonal skills and capability of relating to various people and personalities; initiative, judgment, delegation, and leadership skills.

Ability to read and comprehend reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ADP, Electronic Health Records, Concur, and related software.
