NVIDIA
Data Center Cooling Infrastructure Engineer
Join NVIDIA’s mission to scale AI Factories by designing and operationalizing next‑generation cooling infrastructure. As a specialist, you will lead the development of heat‑rejection architecture, waste‑heat recovery, and full‑stack MEP systems that power high‑performance, sustainable data centers.
What You’ll Be Doing
Lead end‑to‑end design, analysis, and optimization of heat‑rejection and cooling systems, including chillers, cooling towers, dry coolers, thermal storage, pumps, hydronic loops, and air/liquid‑cooling components such as fan walls, CRAHs, CDUs, and manifolds, using tools like AutoCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks.
Develop, validate, and integrate sophisticated cooling architectures and control systems across mechanical, electrical, and automation layers, incorporating waste‑heat recovery and reuse strategies at facility and campus scale.
Build and apply digital twins and SimReady thermal models using platforms such as Flownex, ANSYS‑Fluent, and NVIDIA Omniverse to support design validation, commissioning, and predictive operation.
Perform thermofluidic, pressure‑drop, and system‑level analyses using engineering tools such as Python, MATLAB, or EES to improve energy efficiency, reliability, and cost performance.
Collaborate across organizations to drive alignment, integration, and shared innovation in cooling infrastructure development.
What We Need To See
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Sciences, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience designing and validating cooling systems for data centers, power plants, or other mission‑critical facilities.
Proven expertise in thermofluid systems, heat transfer, and MEP integration.
Strong background in liquid cooling, heat exchangers, thermal storage, and control systems.
Proficiency in CFD and hydronic modeling (Ansys Fluent, Flownex, OpenFOAM) and mechanical/MEP layout tools (AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks).
Experience developing digital twins and simulation‑ready models, integrating datasets into collaborative platforms such as NVIDIA Omniverse, and demonstrating effective cross‑functional communication and collaboration.
Ways To Stand Out From The Crowd
Experience with AI/HPC data centers and advanced cooling technologies, including two‑phase and high‑density liquid‑cooling systems.
Background in controls and automation for cooling systems (PLC, BMS, or SCADA integration).
Familiarity with factory‑scale MEP design, modular deployment, and partner coordination.
Knowledge of waste‑heat recovery and energy reuse concepts for sustainable infrastructure.
