Our client is a fast-growing law firm serving clients in the property management and multifamily housing sectors. Known for practical solutions, deep industry expertise, and exceptional client service, the firm has built a strong regional presence and is now preparing for significant multi‑state expansion. With plans to triple in size within the next several years, the organization is reimagining what modern legal service looks like: fast, data‑informed, collaborative, and client‑first.

Position Summary The firm is seeking a strategic and operationally‑minded Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead internal operations during this pivotal stage of growth. As a key member of the executive leadership team, this individual will translate vision into execution, ensuring the firm’s infrastructure, people, and processes scale in alignment with strategic goals. The COO will bring clarity, structure, and momentum, strengthening the backbone of the firm across finance, HR, technology, and administration while upholding a culture of transparency, collaboration, and accountability.

What You Will Do

Partner with Managing Partners to align firm strategy with operational priorities and measurable goals.

Build scalable systems, workflows, and policies to support growth and operational excellence.

Lead financial planning and stewardship, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and ROI analysis.

Develop performance metrics and dashboards to track productivity, quality, and team success.

Oversee technology and innovation, supporting the integration of new tools and data‑driven systems.

Champion change leadership by guiding teams through organizational transformation with clear communication and empathy.

Lead and develop operations and administrative teams, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and high performance.

What You Need to Bring

10+ years of experience in operations, administration, or executive leadership, ideally within professional services or legal operations.

Proven success in building and scaling operations, designing systems, and managing growth from small to mid‑sized organizations.

Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and strategic resource allocation.

Experience with cross‑functional leadership across HR, IT, finance, and administration.

Skilled in change management, strategic planning, and technology adoption.

Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or JD preferred.

Nice to Have

Prior experience in the property management, multifamily housing, or real estate sectors.

Experience leading operations in multi‑state or distributed organizations.

Professional certifications such as Certified Legal Manager (CLM) or PMP.
