Accountant
Our client is a family‑owned organization in the Milwaukee area looking for an experienced accountant. The role is hybrid and offers flexibility.
Responsibilities
Maintain the general ledger, record journal entries, and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts for multiple entities.
Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and specialized analyses such as cash flow and inventory performance.
Manage fixed asset accounting, including tracking additions, disposals, and depreciation using fixed asset management software.
Oversee and support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice review, approval, and payment initiation.
Research and apply multi‑state sales and use tax regulations.
Reconcile and record employee benefit programs.
Maintain compliance with state filing requirements.
Execute month‑end close activities and ensure accurate daily transaction recording and reconciliations.
Approve, initiate, and record banking transactions, ensuring adherence to internal controls and cash management procedures.
Support the Director of Finance with audits, surveys, and other special projects, including year‑end financial reporting and external submissions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
2+ years of accounting experience.
High attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
