This is a full‑time position requiring a seasoned commercial real estate paralegal with expertise in title insurance and survey matters. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, proactive, and capable of supporting attorneys through all phases of real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, leases, and financing. The role is in‑office and can be performed from one of the following locations: Baton Rouge, LA; New Orleans, LA; Lafayette, LA; Mobile, AL; or Jackson, MS.

Key Responsibilities

Research real property using public records to obtain basic ownership information and property description for title search.

Conduct title searches, resolve title issues, and coordinate with title companies.

Review title searches and draft title commitments for attorney review.

Prepare title affidavits and other forms for signature at closing.

Draft ownership and loan policies and endorsements for attorney review and approval.

Perform due diligence and review zoning, land use, and environmental regulations.

Draft and review contracts, deeds, lease agreements, mortgages, title commitments, and closing documents.

Manage closings, including document preparation, fund transfers, and scheduling, ensuring smooth execution.

Prepare closing checklists and schedule transaction process.

Ensure legal and regulatory compliance in all transactions.

Maintain escrow accounts and prepare escrow‑related documentation.

Organize and maintain legal files and documents.

Communicate with clients, attorneys, lenders, and external parties.

Review and prepare sale and loan documents.

Research corporate and UCC filings.

Complete general post‑closing items and binders.

Provide overall support to Real Estate Team attorneys.

Maintain billing records and ensure timely and accurate time entry.

Qualifications

Minimum three years of experience as a commercial real estate paralegal.

Strong knowledge of commercial real estate law and procedures.

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook applications.

Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and capable of handling a high volume of tasks with precision.

Ability to work independently, manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines under pressure.

Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.

Paralegal certificate preferred.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
