Job Summary The P.E.Coach is responsible for leading structured sports and recreational activities for groups of 20-23 elementary and middle school students (TK-8th grade). This role involves supervising students, planning and leading engaging sports lessons, and creating a positive and active environment. The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, and passionate about youth development through physical activity.
Job Responsibilities
Supervise and engage students in structured physical education activities from school dismissal until 6 p.m.
Plan and leadsports and recreation lessons, including warm-up drills, skill-building exercises, and organized games.
Ensure students’ safety and promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and physical fitness.
Sign in students, distribute supper, and monitor participation.
Rotate through different student groups while coaching various sports and activities.
Maintain discipline and enforce program rules to ensure a respectful and fun environment.
Attend mandatory meetings, training sessions, and occasional field trips.
Follow program policies and procedures while implementing lesson plans.
Completely required CPR/First Aid training and participate in on-the-job training.
Qualifications
Experience working with children in a physical education, coaching, or recreational setting.
48 college credits/AA or equivalency test
Knowledge of sports, fitness activities, and age-appropriate physical education practices.
Strong leadership, communication, and classroom management skills.
Ability to create a fun, structured, and inclusive environment.
CPR/First Aid certification(or willingness to obtain).
Passion for youth development and promoting active lifestyles.
