Position Description The HR Administrator assists with the day‑to‑day operations of the Human Resources functions and duties. Reporting to the local Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP), the HR Administrator supports HRBP and department management with HR‑related matters, demonstrating high trust, confidentiality, good judgment, and collaboration. The HR Administrator works closely with employees, supervisors, and managers, providing administrative support to the HR department including record keeping, payroll, training, plant events, onboarding, and audits.
Essential Functions
Assist HRBP on hourly recruitment processes and employment strategies.
Advise employees and managers on leave management, benefit administration, and HR procedures.
Establish, organize, and maintain department records with accuracy and confidentiality.
Assist with I‑9 completion, verification, and documentation maintenance.
Maintain employee confidence by protecting HR information.
Welcome new employees, administering orientation and paperwork.
Provide general clerical support to HR and Plant departments.
Complete filing and data entry tasks.
Screen telephone, mail, and electronic communications for HR.
Coordinate facility events and meetings.
Use independent judgment to prioritize tasks and facilitate communication.
Handle confidential matters discreetly with solid judgment.
Maintain and update HR communications, including electronic systems.
Process new hire/termination documents and IT requirements for hourly employees.
Assist in conducting exit interviews for hourly employees.
Attend daily Plant operation meetings.
Enter hourly employee timecards, time‑off requests, and schedules.
Assist with employee engagement programs and events.
Serve as first point of contact for HR inquiries, managing or escalating issues as needed.
Track HR data and metrics.
Required Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and HRIS.
Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to multi‑task in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
Demonstrated success in payroll administration, recruitment, and employee relations.
Effective communicator with all levels of management.
Capacity to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
Ability to interpret company policies and procedures for management and hourly employees.
Serve as the primary point of contact for HR inquiries, applying active listening and clear communication.
Clear understanding of how HR functions support organizational goals and prioritize effectively.
Skillful problem solving and decision making, alerting others to potential issues promptly.
Relationship building through honest and consistent behavior.
Education and Experience
Associate degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (required). Bachelor’s preferred. HR certification(s) a plus.
Solid background in HR administration.
Minimum of 1 year HR experience in a manufacturing / distribution environment.
Minimum of 1 year proven experience interacting with customers.
Working Conditions
Continuously sitting for prolonged periods; job is administrative in nature.
Attention to detail required.
Fast‑paced work environment with pressure to remain focused under deadline and project demands.
Physical Requirements
R = Rarely (0‑15%)
O = Occasionally (16‑45%)
F = Frequently (46‑100%)
Stand or sit – required.
Stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling – occasional.
