In the Office of the Registrar, Classroom Scheduling, the primary responsibility of the Senior Scheduler position is to help produce the academic schedules for the University each semester. This position also manages academic and special events, instructional space, and space utilization issues. The Administrative Specialist will provide support for the Senior Scheduler as needed. This role requires critical thinking to monitor clock schedules, process room change requests, produce the class schedule, create final exam schedules, and submit external site requests. This position focuses on academic scheduling and supports needs across six campuses. Specific Duties And Responsibilities
Manage the daily operations and workflow of academic scheduling processes. Review and submit for approval routine clock exception requests. Oversee and coordinate the production of the academic course schedule each semester by established deadlines. Collaborate with academic colleges to produce each schedule. Create and post final exam schedules each semester and submit off-clock final exam schedules to colleges. Provide conflict resolutions for final and common exams. Respond to daily inquiries via telephone, e-mail, or in-person; process non-routine academic-related reservation requests. Serve as liaison between the Office of Course Scheduling and faculty, staff, students, and academic colleges across six campuses. Provide timely resolution of complaints regarding classrooms, academic scheduling, and faculty/staff inquiries. Resolve classroom issues during emergencies such as floods, fires, or equipment outages. Develop, maintain, and update written training documentation for the academic scheduling process. Create standard e-mail responses for routine requests and inquiries. Attend monthly alternating scheduler meetings as required. Collaborate with the Assistant Registrar on new projects or initiatives as needed. Assist Senior Scheduler with event processing during peak times. Minimum Hiring Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and four years of administrative experience; or a high school diploma or GED and eight years of administrative experience; or a combination of education and related experience. Preferred Hiring Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates demonstrating knowledge of classroom scheduling. Working knowledge of integrated student record data systems, such as Banner and Banner Workflow. Collaborative, energetic, and resourceful work style. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Additional Details
