Overview
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the company to patients who come in, both as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions. The ENTRY PSR I helps with patient care by greeting patients upon arrival and answering questions or concerns with care and compassion. The ENTRY PSR I maintains the waiting area and assists with breaks when other Phlebotomists are unavailable. The ENTRY PSR I will also be trained on Phlebotomy skills to grow within the company. The ENTRY PSR I has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining what to expect regarding scheduled procedures in a safe and accurate manner. The role demonstrates excellence in customer care while focusing on process skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information. The impact of this role is to maintain the lobby’s integrity and ensure patients receive the expected level of service.
Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time. Maintain a safe and professional environment. Maintain required records and documentation. Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees and the public, with a willingness to learn new skills.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and assist with check‑in in the lobby via self-service kiosk or handheld tablet, delivering care and compassion.
- Assist with breaks and support Phlebotomy staff as needed when other Phlebotomists are unavailable.
- Be willing to learn Phlebotomy skills and perform phlebotomy duties when trained, following established practices and procedures.
- Explain procedures to patients, maintain confidentiality, and ensure accurate documentation and processing.
- Maintain the waiting area and contribute to a positive patient experience.
- Maintain required records and documentation as directed.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED.
- Work Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of client-facing customer service REQUIRED (Retail, Home Health Aide, etc.). Prior Phlebotomy experience is NOT required.
- Keyboard/data entry experience is a must.
- High level of customer service experience/skills is required.
- Willingness to learn Phlebotomy; candidates not willing to learn Phlebotomy should not apply.
- Bilingual candidates strongly preferred who also speak Spanish; English must be strong.
