Senior Network Engineer (Juniper/Arista & Network Automation) Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Network Engineer with deep expertise in Juniper and network automation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting complex network infrastructure across ISP environments. This role requires extensive knowledge of advanced routing and switching protocols, deep experience with Juniper's product portfolio, and a strong background in using automation to manage modern network fabrics. Responsibilities
Core Network Engineering : Design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructures for core ISP environments. IP Routing : Configure and troubleshoot advanced Layer 3 IP routing, including OSPF, MP-BGP (route reflectors), L3VPN VRF design, and TE Tunnels in an MPLS core. Switching Expertise : Perform extensive configuration and troubleshooting of Layer 2 switching technologies, such as IS-IS routing, VLANs, SVIs, STP, vPC LAGs, LACP, HSRP, and VRRP. BGP Policy Control : Develop and implement advanced BGP policy controls using ACLs, prefix-sets, route-maps, AS Path Prepending, local preference, MED, VRF import/export, BGP communities, and route aggregation. Juniper JunOS : Expertly configure and manage Juniper JunOS devices (MX and EX series), including bridging and routing, use of MPLS with routing instances (VRFs), and Virtual Private LAN Services (VPLS). Network Automation : Leverage automation to manage the network fabric, including proficiency with Ansible for intent-based infrastructure-as-code deployments. Troubleshooting and Support : Act as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex network incidents, providing advanced troubleshooting and resolution. Documentation : Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures. Mentorship : Mentor and provide guidance to junior network engineering staff. Required skills
In-depth, hands-on experience with Juniper network equipment, particularly MX and EX series. Expertise in Layer 3 IP routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) and MPLS core technologies (L3VPN, L2VPN, TE Tunnels). Expertise in Layer 2 switching technologies (IS-IS, VLANs, vPC, LACP). Solid understanding of advanced BGP policy controls and filtering techniques. Proven experience with ISP fabric architectures Proficiency in network automation using tools like Ansible, with a focus on intent-based configurations. Strong scripting skills, preferably with Python, to automate network tasks and integrate with APIs. Experience with network monitoring, telemetry, and logging systems. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. Experience & Qualifications
7+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering in a large-scale enterprise or service provider environment. Proven experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex network solutions. Relevant industry certifications are highly desirable (e.g., JNCIE, CCNP, or higher equivalent).
