Legal Assistant - Litigation

Job Overview Verrill, one of New England’s top full‑service law firms, is actively seeking a full‑time, hourly Legal Assistant to support attorneys in our Litigation Practice Group.
Responsibilities
Typing, revising, and proofreading legal documents and correspondence.
Maintaining paper and electronic files.
Calendaring and tracking deadlines.
Preparing and e‑filing pleadings in state, federal trial courts, appellate courts and supreme courts.
Liaising effectively with court personnel and staying up to date with changes in court rules and filing procedures.
Preparing expense reports, assisting with attorney time records and the monthly billing process.
Conducting general legal research.
Answering the telephone, assisting clients, and responding promptly in a fast‑paced environment.
Qualifications
Motivated self‑starter with litigation experience.
Ability to handle sensitive topics with discretion and professionalism, ensuring confidentiality in all communications.
Impeccable attention to detail and organizational skills.
Advanced computer proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Knowledge of both state and federal trial court processes and procedures.
Proven project management skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and excel in a collaborative team environment.
