The Application Sales Engineer supports the company’s motion control and automated product lines by engaging with OEMs, distributors, and system integrators. This role combines technical expertise with sales strategy to deliver customer-focused solutions, provide pre-sales support, and drive business growth across North America.

Responsibilities

Identify and develop new business opportunities with OEMs, distributors, and system integrators. Research and contact potential leads through business directories, digital platforms, and outbound calling. Manage inbound leads from digital campaigns, tradeshows, and e-commerce platforms; qualify and route appropriately. Grow existing accounts through technical presentations, product demonstrations, and ongoing customer engagement. Provide pre-sales application engineering support and propose tailored solutions. Conduct training sessions for internal teams, customers, and partners. Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and opportunities in CRM/ERP systems. Collaborate with marketing, business services, and outside sales to ensure seamless communication and quoting accuracy. Participate in trade shows to identify leads and promote company products. Support house accounts and assigned distributors to achieve sales growth targets. Respond promptly to RFQs, resolve issues professionally, and ensure strong customer satisfaction. Occasionally travel for customer visits, training, or events.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required (Mechanical, Electrical, or related). 2+ years of experience with motion control systems, robotics, or related systems is highly preferred. Experience in inside sales, technical sales, or sales support (Application or Sales Engineering) is preferred. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints. Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
