SNI Companies is partnered with a Chemical Manufacturing company looking for an HR/Payroll Specialist to join their amazing team!
Base pay range $38.00/hr - $43.00/hr
Objective The HR & Payroll Specialist will manage bi-weekly, multi-state payroll and benefits administration while supporting key human resources functions, compliance initiatives, and employee engagement activities.
Key Responsibilities Payroll & Benefits Administration (50%)
Process a multi-state payroll using ADP Workforce Now.
Prepare general ledger reports for Accounts Payable and Treasury to ensure proper cost allocation and funding.
Generate and reconcile funding reports related to benefit contributions.
Administer benefits including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
Reconcile benefit invoices and coordinate timely payments.
HR Compliance (25%)
Conduct pre-employment background checks and verifications of employment.
Facilitate new hire orientations and maintain HRIS data for new hires, terminations, and status changes.
Support internal HR documentation and compliance reporting needs.
Employee Engagement (25%)
Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, escalating issues as needed.
Coordinate and organize HR-led initiatives such as employee appreciation events, open enrollment sessions, and training programs.
Support communication and engagement efforts across the organization.
Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Skills
Prior experience processing payroll (ADP Workforce Now preferred).
Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
Soft Skills
Strong sense of ownership, especially regarding payroll accuracy and benefits management.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Adaptable to ambiguity (e.g., navigating new payroll setups for additional states).
Professional demeanor with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to build credibility and maintain confidentiality while engaging with all levels of the organization.
