Senior IT Security Specialist – Department of Licensing (DOL), Information Services Division (ISD)

Overview
As a Senior IT Security Specialist, you will manage DOL’s enterprise-wide cybersecurity systems and security architecture. You will secure the enterprise environment for agency staff and infrastructure by planning, implementing, and testing security controls, and by advising on security standards aligned with agency policies. You will serve as a resource for less experienced team members and support remote collaboration across the DOL team.
Duties
Ensure compliance with cybersecurity regulations and standards.
Respond to and manage security incidents.
Design and implement security controls.
Serve as a cybersecurity architect for the agency.
Ensure security is integrated into all IT systems and projects through advisement, planning, and assessments.
Qualifications
What you will bring:
Eleven (11) years of cybersecurity network, server, or application experience.
Experience must include six (6) of the following technical areas:
IT Security systems, network, or server products.
Development of strategies to resolve complex issues and assist in IT mission delivery.
Troubleshooting complex technical problems.
Effective communication with IT and business managers to escalate problems, make recommendations, and report status.
Compliance auditing.
Vulnerability management.
Security assessments.
The ability to understand and follow agency values of respect, trust, diversity, equity and inclusion through behaviors and decisions.
Experience may be obtained concurrently : Up to four (4) years of relevant education may substitute year for year for experience (Associates degree = 2 years, Bachelor’s degree = 4 years).
What may help set you apart
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
Experience with state IT architecture design.
Five (5) years of experience with Security Assessments.
Experience with:
Software development life cycle (SDLC) management.
Project Management with complex IT projects.
Application development and deployment.
Additional Conditions Of Employment

Position is predominantly remote; occasional in-person presentations to Olympia offices may be required with 24-hour notice.
