Psychologist-Clinical, Correctional Facility Under the general direction of the Senior Psychologist Supervisor, Office of Employee Wellness (OEW), the Psychologist serves as a Behavioral Health and Wellness Consultant to the Department, specifically to the Correctional Officer Apprenticeship Program (CO AP). This role provides complex behavioral health and wellness services to CDCR cadets and officers during their apprenticeship period, augments the employee wellness infrastructure, and participates in development, implementation, delivery, and evaluation of the CO AP.

Responsibilities

Provide brief, solution‑focused counseling, consultation, and coaching to cadets and officers in the apprenticeship period.

Apply a mental health perspective to program development, implementation, and evaluation.

Work effectively and cooperatively under stressful conditions and limited leave time, including weekends, holidays, extended, and rotating day/night shifts.

Travel statewide on short notice and, when required, for extended periods.

Working Conditions & Telework Position eligible for hybrid telework (office as required). Must reside in California upon appointment. Regular and consistent attendance is critical; must be available for required business hours.

Minimum Qualifications

Current, valid California Psychologist license (license number required).

Professional license certificate in psychology.
