Regional Sales Manager – Superior Essex
Essential Purpose Of This Position The Regional Sales Manager (Broadband) plans, maintains, and manages Superior Essex’ sales in a defined territory. The incumbent is responsible for managing sales to distributors, contractors, end users, and independent sales representative organizations. The role also includes executing technical specification activities to enhance the brand image and identity for all Superior Essex products through targeted customer calls, technical presentations, speaking engagements, partner activities, and support.
Territory: KS, TN, MS, AL, GA, NC, SC, FL
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Involvement in development and implementation of Distributor, Representation and Contractor Programs:
Training
Joint sales calls with Representatives and Distribution
Maintenance of company Database
Program Updates
Conduct training as needed/required
Act as Superior Essex contact for assigned end users, contractors, and representatives, establishing relationships and providing feedback to Product Management regarding new business opportunities and investment justification.
Coordinate efforts with other RSMs, NAMs, Specification Engineers, and manufacturers’ representatives through:
Joint calls
Seminars
Training sessions
Communicating with Marketing regarding competitive environment and product enhancements
Gain insight into customers' internal corporate initiatives and respond with suggestions for programs and tools that differentiate Superior Essex from competitors.
Meet performance objectives, including:
Follow-up on leads/new contacts and establish relationships with end users, contractors, and distributors.
Update projects and accounts in CRM weekly.
Engage in bi‑weekly calls or meetings with manufacturer representatives.
Collaborate with BBS team, NAMs, Public Network and Government sales group to target opportunities.
Achieve assigned sales objectives in target product lines annually.
Skills And Abilities Required
Broadband OSP market knowledge
Superior written and verbal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
Technical comprehension of fiber and copper Outside Plant cable specifications (aerial and underground, drops, hybrid)
Ability to present information and respond to inquiries from top management, clients, and customers
Capacity to derive optimal solutions in environments with conflicting product requirements and performance characteristics
Education And Experience Requirements
BS/BA (or equivalent)
Minimum of 5 years of relevant telecom industry experience
Current familiarity and contacts within the designated territory
Experience in Distribution and Manufacturing preferred
Licenses Or Certifications
BICSI RCDD certification preferred
Computer Equipment And Software Requirements
Ability to use a PC or laptop with the Windows operating environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
