Responsibilities As District Budget Manager, the incumbent has overall responsibility for supervising employees in a wide range of administrative and budgetary functions, including program budget allocation and monitoring, certification of funds and encumbrances, cashiering, mailroom and motorpool operations. The incumbent establishes and implements internal policies and procedures to ensure activities align with departmental goals, ensures timely service to customers (primarily other Caltrans work groups), and is expected to attain excellent results through proper direction and training of employees. Self‑motivation, innovation, creativity, rapport building, and teamwork are essential to success.

Work Conditions Position may be eligible for telework at the discretion of the Department. Employees are expected to report to the headquarters as needed, and business travel may be required. All commute expenses to the headquarters location are the responsibility of the candidate.
