What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
Design and implement high‑volume, fault‑tolerant, scalable backend systems for managing petabytes of customer data
Enhance algorithms for scheduling loads on clusters of thousands of machines in real‑time
Improve systems to ensure performance guarantees in a shared‑everything multi‑tenant architecture
Lead efforts to re‑architect internal message processing technology for petabyte‑per‑day scale
Collaborate across teams to identify requirements and develop solutions for core ingest needs
What is Required (Qualifications):
B.S. or higher in Computer Science or related discipline; M.S. is a plus
Minimum of 5 years of industry experience with a proven track record of ownership and delivery
Experience in developing scalable distributed data processing solutions
Proficiency in multi‑threaded programming and large scalable distributed services following a microservice architecture
Hands‑on object‑oriented programming experience (e.g., Java, Scala)
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
Experience in big data and/or 24x7 commercial services
Familiarity with Unix (Linux, OS X) environments
Agile software development experience, including test‑driven and iterative development
