Overview
GroceryManager – This is a union position, and Not bonus eligible. Overnight position. Responsibilities
Manage the Grocery Department, including dairy and frozen food sections; plan, organize, and direct day-to-day operations of the Grocery Department. Conduct daily inspections of all Grocery sections and initiate corrective measures to ensure compliance with product quality and rotation standards. Maintain stock conditions and ensure compliance with code date standards, cleanliness, sanitation, safety standards, and security requirements. Control pricing by following established division pricing guidelines and ensuring compliance with coupon and discount policies. Implement Company and Division operating and merchandising policies and practices. Control merchandise shrink; supervise and participate in store inventory counts. Establish Grocery Department operating procedures in line with Company policies, Division directives and Store Director instructions. Implement emergency procedures for equipment and computer software malfunctions or failures. Order grocery products and maintain inventory levels according to Division directives; supervise reclamation processing. Maintain orderly and in-stock conditions in back room, sales floor, and all grocery department areas. Supervise receiving, storing, stocking, pricing, and merchandising of all Grocery products; use hand trucks, pallet jacks and the bailer as needed. Properly account for merchandise received; handle positive customer and vendor relations; engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques. Monitor daily log sheet, purchase report, actual versus projected sales, and labor. Prepare and display appropriate product signage. Qualities & Requirements
Understands the store and Grocery Department Profit and Loss statement, and plans department promotions accordingly. Frequently communicates sales goals, department performance, and sales opportunities to department associates to drive positive results. Responds to incoming telephone calls appropriately and resolves customer complaints, reporting to the Store Director as appropriate. Maintains confidentiality regarding associates, store sales, and Company information; maintains accurate department records. Performs all job duties with honesty and integrity in compliance with Company policies and procedures. Attends required training and sales meetings. Provides feedback and recommendations to Store Director or District Manager and Division management teams on operational issues. Benefits

Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on location, experience, qualifications and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Benefits include healthcare, sick pay, PTO/Vacation pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility) depending on length of service and applicable collective bargaining agreement.
