Direct Service Advocate-HYPP-2nd Shift

YWCA of Western Massachusetts . Requisition ID: 1969. Salary range: $20.00 - $20.00 per hour. Position is part‑time, 15 hours bi‑weekly, every other weekend from 3:00 pm–11:00 pm. This role supports the Holyoke Young Parent Program and reports to the Site Director.
Program & Location The YWCA of Western Massachusetts is dedicated to eliminating racism and empowering women. It provides a safe place for survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault. The program offers crisis shelter and transitional housing for survivors and their families, counseling, SAFEPLAN court advocacy, community education, supervised visitation and vocational training for youth ages 17‑24. Services are provided at Holyoke, Northampton, Westfield and Springfield campuses.
Responsibilities
Support, advocate, and model for adult, teen and child program participants living in the YWCA residential programs.
Work as part of a team with peers, supervisors, clinicians and external partners to best serve participants.
Provide trauma‑informed services to deliver safe, consistent and quality support for vulnerable populations.
Handle a 24/7 program: be available for holiday shifts per schedule.
Conduct safety checks on residents and children, ensuring mothers supervise children at all times.
Encourage and support development of life skills, positive parenting and improved parent‑child interaction, and offer support during crisis or overwhelming periods.
Document daily program communications, including case notes, resident files and communication logs for every shift using AWARDS.
Maintain facility and property: vacuuming, laundry, shoveling, raking, mopping, bedroom preparation; ensure all 100% of chores are completed before signing off on the chore list.
Follow program procedures, rules, regulations and policies.
Ensure a safe and supportive living environment, including completing all required safety sweeps (minimum of four times each shift) and ensuring premises (alarms, doors, windows, appliances, bedrooms) are safe.
Qualifications
A.A. or equivalent education or experience in a human services field.
One year of counseling and direct service experience (preferred).
Experience with victims of domestic violence (preferred).
Reliable transportation and/or valid driver's license (preferred).
Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Seniority level: Entry level. Employment type: Part‑time.
