Job Description: Roadside Assistance Technician. You will be part of our Emergency Roadside Assistance team and our Roadside Assistance Technicians are described as "Everyday Heroes" who provide peace of mind to members by identifying and addressing vehicle problems and delivering services to get them safely back on the road. Responsibilities
Operate a full-size or mini service truck or tow truck and applicable service equipment to assist AAA members, employees, and other motorists. Utilize GPS and maps to locate member breakdown locations. Service vehicles by performing functions such as providing fuel, testing and replacing batteries, performing jumpstarts, providing lockout service, and changing/inflating flat tires. Arrange for or tow a member’s vehicle when the vehicle cannot be started or is unsafe to drive. Ensure 100% member satisfaction by providing excellent customer service. Offer value to members through On-the-Go Tow or battery tests/sales. Provide support at special events such as parades, travel shows, Car Care or Public Relations events. Competitive starting salary with comprehensive benefits packages. Hourly rates at $22.50 for Georgia. Overtime earning potential at time and a half. Shift premiums: 5% (5pm–11pm) and 10% (11pm–5am). $1,000 sign-on bonus (split payout at 90 and 180 days); top details provided by Recruiting Team. $250 Quarterly Perfect Attendance bonus. Required Qualifications: Have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license. Are 21 years of age or older. Possess a valid state driver’s license with minimal driving infractions/incidents. If employed in Illinois, possess a valid Illinois C-NonCDL driver’s license (required). Experience using tablets or electronic devices to update calls, review policies and procedures, document safety records, and complete applicable duties. Exhibit strong customer service skills, including effective communication to customers/members and meeting/exceeding customer expectations. Ability to lift materials weighing up to 75 pounds. Ability to successfully complete drug screening, MVR, criminal background check and DOT health screenings (pre-employment and ongoing). Preferred Qualifications: Experience servicing vehicles: providing fuel, testing and replacing batteries, jumpstarts, lockout service, changing/inflating tires. Prior tow truck driver or roadside service experience. Ability to operate wheel lift, flatbed, dolly towing equipment, and full-size or mini service vehicle; commercial driving experience. Provides roadside service to AAA members. Works primarily out of the office with frequent exposure to road hazards and temperature extremes; less than 5% time in a temperature-controlled office environment. Interested in learning more?
