Company: We are a mid-sized, rapidly growing CPA firm located in Northbrook, Illinois. We deliver large-firm expertise with a personal touch, specializing in tax preparation for individuals and businesses. Position Summary: As an IT Specialist, you'll manage and support the firm's technology infrastructure, ensuring it aligns with accounting practices and regulatory requirements. You'll play a key role in shaping technology strategy, maintaining system integrity, and supporting specialized accounting software.
Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain systems, networks, printers, and scanners Provide technical support for accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) Set up new employees with secure system access Perform routine maintenance and upgrades Troubleshooting & Vendor Management Diagnose and resolve technical issues Coordinate with vendors for support and repairs Ensure offsite duties are completed on schedule Inventory Management Track and order IT equipment and supplies Security Management Implement antivirus, firewalls, and data protection protocols Manage backup and recovery systems Training & Documentation Create and deliver user training materials Train staff on system operations System Testing Research, implement, and test new software and updates Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field Experience in a professional services firm is highly desirable Proven track record of maintaining IT infrastructure Technical Skills Strong knowledge of hardware, operating systems, networks, and accounting software Effective problem-solving and communication skills Attention to detail and understanding of CPA firm IT needs Personal Attributes Positive, energetic, and "can-do" attitude Excellent interpersonal and multitasking skills Strong organizational and presentation abilities Ability to work well under pressure Team player mindset Benefits
