Manufacturing Engineer – CNC Turning Programming
professional to join our team and lead process development for our advanced multi-axis turning centers.
Position Overview
The Manufacturing Engineer will focus on
CNC turning process engineering and programming
for high-mix, low-volume aerospace and medical components. This role combines
hands-on CNC programming ,
process improvement , and
production support —ideal for someone with both technical and practical machining experience.
You’ll work with
Fanuc-controlled dual-turret turn-mill machines
(with sub-spindles and live tooling) and use
Hypermill
or equivalent CAM software to create and optimize CNC programs.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and optimize
CNC turning programs
for complex aerospace and medical parts
Set up and validate new machining processes on multi-axis turning centers
Create and manage
process documentation , setup sheets, and control plans
Estimate program time, tooling cost, and cycle time for new jobs
Collaborate with machinists, planners, and leadership to maintain production schedules
Design and select appropriate
tooling, fixturing, and materials
Implement
tool life management
and proactive process monitoring strategies
Troubleshoot machining issues and continuously improve performance
Support compliance with
ISO 9001 / AS9100
quality standards
Train setup machinists and operators on new programs and process updates
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience
programming and operating CNC lathes
with live tooling / Y-axis / sub-spindle
Strong proficiency with
Fanuc controls
and
multi-axis turn-mill machines
Experience with
Hypermill ,
Mastercam , or similar
CAM software
Deep understanding of
GD&T , blueprint reading, and part inspection
Skilled in selecting tooling, designing fixtures, and process optimization
Strong technical communication and documentation skills
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Technical certificate or
2–4 year engineering degree
in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or related field preferred
Compensation & Benefits
Pay:
$35–$45+/hr (based on experience)
Schedule:
1st Shift (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM, 40–45 hrs/week + overtime)
