Personal and Commercial Banking Services Job Description

The Retail Banker I is a customer liaison integral to delivering TD’s Brand promise by using financial expertise and consultative advice to assist customers with banking solutions. This role supports business objectives by identifying appropriate TD solutions to help customers achieve their financial goals and optimize their relationship with TD. Depth & Scope

Proficient in products, services and routine transactions to educate customers on bank products and services or refer them to the appropriate team member, while ensuring a positive customer experience. Broad knowledge of the full product suite, services, and processes of the business area; low to moderate complexity/risk. Establishes and nurtures customer relationships by demonstrating product knowledge, listening to needs, and offering solutions or referrals. Makes product recommendations based on customer needs and highlights features and benefits to support customers. Utilizes customer relationship management tools to identify solutions and lead-focused outbound sales activities. Independently resolves customer issues; escalates when necessary. Builds working relationships with customers and explains detailed information. Requires full proficiency gained through job-related training to perform a range of activities. Participates in customer outreach, servicing and advisory activities to deliver on the brand promise. Engages in conversations about loan products and facilitates the application process. Must maintain an active registration status with NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry). Education & Experience

HS Diploma or GED 1+ years’ experience working with customers and/or sales in any capacity, or equivalent demonstrated through volunteering, education, military experience, etc. (Teller experience preferred). Must be able to complete teller training upon hire to process customer transactions. Strong ability to engage customers, educate on products and services, and communicate clearly. Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills; ability to be concise, clear and consistent. Ability to schedule and prioritize work; work independently and meet deadlines. Sound judgment in decision making and effective problem solving. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Notary License (Preferred). Customer Accountabilities

Delivers a legendary customer experience by helping customers, building relationships, and delivering service and advice. Understands and supports the bank’s customer service strategy with end-to-end advice and proactive insights. Acts as a customer advocate to improve financial confidence and provide proactive tips and savings opportunities. Executes behaviors to deliver a legendary, human customer experience in-store, resolving issues or providing sound advice. Manages customer flow, welcomes customers, identifies needs, and guides to appropriate solutions. Educates customers on self-service options that meet their needs. May act as a point of escalation for customer questions. May perform teller transactions while monitoring fraud mitigation and adhering to policies. Considers the impact of decisions on TD, customers, and stakeholders; acts as a brand champion. Educates clients on digital self-service channels. Engages authentically with customers, making transactions personal. Shareholder Accountabilities

Ensures compliance with company guidelines and regulations (e.g., Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act) to minimize risk. Participates in daily store operations in alignment with TD’s risk framework. Understands and applies operating policies and procedures; supports timely and accurate completion of processes. Escalates non-standard or high-risk transactions as necessary. Ensures documentation reflects client/business intentions and complies with rules/regulations. Performs due diligence to support the accuracy of all customer transactions/activities. Complies with Bank Code of Conduct and drives operational excellence. Employee/Team Accountabilities

Regulation Z classification for Loan Originator and SAFE Act Mortgage Loan Originator requirements; eligible for registration with the NMLS. Eligible for employment with a covered financial institution under Regulation Z. Background and credit checks required by federal law. Physical Requirements
