Operational Excellence
Responsibilities
Assist the Operations Manager in day‑to‑day operations ensuring contract requirements are met in a cost effective, safe and efficient manner.
Supervise Tunnel Control Room and Incident Response operations in a safe and efficient manner, meeting contract and client expectations.
Supervise and train Tunnel Operators in detection, reporting, assessment, verification and documentation of incidents and emergency responses, including dispatches to Incident Response Crew and 911.
Manage communication of real‑time traffic information, incidents and emergencies to the Traffic Management Center and coordinate responses with supporting emergency agencies.
Supervise life‑safety system operations and coordinate on‑road incident response by IRC personnel and external agencies.
Lead and train Incident Response Crews on procedures and requirements.
Perform security monitoring of tunnel equipment.
Coordinate training scheduling and documentation for Tunnel Control Room and Incident Response staff.
Provide 24/7 on‑call availability for all operational emergencies, events or issues, including availability prior to and after hurricanes.
Conduct quality assurance of post‑incident review documentation.
Complete the Operations section of the monthly Operations and Maintenance report.
Coordinate the working schedule of all Tunnel Operators.
Assist the Lead IRC Technician with Incident Response Team matters.
Review POMT SCADA history logs, daily shift logs, event notifications and track incident participation performance.
Compile Incident Compliance Workbook.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Operations Manager.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED.
Advanced Temporary Traffic Control Certificate – FDOT approved provider – Mandatory.
College degree preferred.
Advanced knowledge of Traffic Incident Management procedures and protocols.
Organized, detail oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities.
Experience with SCADA systems.
Maintenance of Traffic knowledge.
Excellent customer service orientation and client satisfaction focus.
