In this role, as a Manager within the OAPI supply chain team, you will pursue operational goals while working cross-functionally to support development, planning, and implementation of the S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) process. You will support execution of global sourcing strategies across supplier categories related to Otsuka products. You will manage a complex portfolio of products with competing priorities, balancing inventory, managing vendor/supplier relationships, and optimizing total delivered cost to meet finished goods demand with a focus on delivering value to patients, suppliers, and Otsuka. You will foster proactive cross-functional communication to ensure internal and external customer demands are met with reliable supply. Additional responsibilities include coordinating purchase requisitions in the ERP system, monitoring supplier performance KPIs, reporting, aligning production and development with program goals, and communicating demand/forecast to key vendors/suppliers. You will work closely with program/project managers, product development, new product introduction, technical operations, and internal/external manufacturing teams. Responsibilities
Plan demand with internal partners (Marketing, Finance, Analytics, Channel Strategy, etc.) to gather total demand for assigned responsibilities. Review and streamline the demand planning process with internal teams. Develop and manage manufacturing and distribution plans for new and existing products to ensure continuous supply, including international product. Create and maintain replenishment plans for finished products in assigned territories and issue replenishment orders within the planning time fence. Develop and implement safety stock with adequate shelf-life to meet customer service levels and inventory objectives. Manage communications about manufacturing plans with internal and external parties. Oversee purchase order processes and collaborate with drug product plants and packaging CMOs to ensure timely execution. Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Vendors, Channel Strategy, Global Product Quality, Quality Control, Finance, Legal, Packaging) to monitor processes and provide feedback. Address exceptions to replenishment plans and work with third-party suppliers or site planners to resolve changes in demand and supply to meet market needs. Escalate supply issues and risks, implement corrective actions, and mitigate to maintain supply continuity. Manage the monthly S&OP process and share performance results with internal stakeholders. Report supply chain metrics and support month-end close activities and J-SOX controls with Finance. Monitor inventory levels and stock movements, including inventory reconciliation. Support ad hoc supply scenario modeling with quick turn-around and well-documented assumptions. Coordinate transportation and logistics activities, prepare release documentation, address invoice discrepancies, and maintain master data. Distribution and Logistics
Address distribution escalations and resolve with 3PL or internal teams. Manage interfaces, transactions, and postings in the ERP system. Oversee 3PL processes for inventory, returns/claims, recalls, reporting, and product destructions. Manage inventory reporting and communication with relevant parties. Coordinate pick/pack/ship processes with 3PL to meet service levels. Define packing instructions for new routes and transportation methods with packaging and quality teams. Manage distribution state license submissions and renewals with Legal and vendors. Oversee international and intercompany orders and shipments with customers and 3PL, including forecasting and documentation. Coordinate serialization program at 3PL and ensure DSCSA compliance with involved parties. Manage distribution budget, service POs, and 3PL invoices; collaborate with Finance on expense allocations and accruals. Vendor Management
Lead Vendor/Supplier relationships for Contract Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Packaging, and Distribution & Logistics vendors within defined tiers. Manage service agreements, product launches, business reviews, performance metrics, and audits with internal functions. Monitor supply chain and packaging risks; report supplier performance data to the category manager. Develop controls and ways of working to improve processes and system efficiency while ensuring compliance. SOPs and Compliance
Manage supply chain SOPs and training to comply with GxP, company policies, and regulations. Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field Experience: 5-7 years Technical Skills: Business analytics, project management, ERP, MS 365 Leadership: Negotiation, team leadership, networking Communication: Well organized, clear written and verbal communication Cultural Experience: Able to handle ambiguity, curious, adaptable, collaborative across multiple teams Industry Experience: Pharma, medical device, or food industry Preferred
Certifications: APICS Technical Skills: GMP, SAP S/4HANA DEA experience Competencies
