Job Summary Under the supervision of the Director of Strategic Initiatives, the Training Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating schedules for onboarding trainings, monthly all-staff trainings, and will be the lead staff responsible for designing and implementing database trainings. Duties include onboarding coordination, facilitation and oversight of database trainings, and all-staff agency/licensing required trainings.

This position will ensure that interactions, interventions and environments at Urban Peak are trauma informed and emphasize the physical and emotional safety of youth and staff.

Who You Are:

3+ years of experience in education, curriculum design, and/or training facilitation (required); a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in education, social work, or a related field (preferred); experience working with youth and young adults (preferred)

Experience utilizing Salesforce or other CRM (preferred).

Proven to ability to create and facilitate new curriculum

Ability to coordinate schedules for cross multiple departments

Lived experience reflective of the youth we serve encouraged but not required.

Must be computer proficient and possess experience in MS 365 environment including Teams (e.g. Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).

Understanding of the provision of and commitment to trauma informed care and positive youth development

Must be insurable as a driver on Urban Peak’s auto liability policy in order to conduct business on behalf of the agency or transport youth using an Urban Peak vehicle and an approved personal vehicle.

Ability to pass both federal and state background checks

Ability to pass pre-employment TB Screening

Ability to pass pre-employment physical

What You Will Do: Onboarding Coordination

Ensure the day-to-day of onboarding goes smoothly, including communication with new staff members and training facilitators. This role will facilitate some but not all onboarding trainings, with an emphasis on being the expert for database facilitation (see below).

Oversee and compile feedback regarding onboarding; report to Program Oversight team on a monthly basis.

This position will manage training attendance and ensure all attendance is recorded and reported to Human Resources.

Schedule room reservation and send calendar invites to onboarding participants.

Coordinate with program managers, directors and Human Resources to finalize monthly onboarding schedule.

Facilitation and Oversight of Database Trainings

With support from the Assistant Director of Research and Evaluation and the Database Manager, this position is responsible for thoroughly learning and comprehending Urban Peak Salesforce and HMIS databases and developing trainings for all program staff to learn these systems.

Reimagine and facilitate Salesforce onboarding training for program staff; conduct 1:1 training with staff who need additional support.

Coordinate with MDHI to ensure all staff are registered for and have active profiles with CO-HMIS. This includes roll-out and accountability for annual refresher trainings.

Lead monthly office hours to support staff who need additional help with data entry.

All-Staff Trainings

Coordinate monthly all-staff trainings with an emphasis on (1) program staff learning objectives and (2) compliance with trainings requirements for grants and CO State licensing

Ensure monthly trainings are facilitated from a trauma-informed, youth-centered, culturally expansive lens.

Work with the Director of Strategic Initiatives to determine annual training priorities and outreach to prospective facilitators.

Who We Are: Founded in 1988, Urban Peak is the only non-profit organization in Denver that provides a full convergence of services for youth ages 12 through 24 experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk of becoming homeless. Our goal is to meet youth where they are and to provide them with the assistance and support, they need to become self-sufficient or obtain the necessary services they need to exit a life on the streets.

Urban Peak provides numerous programs and services that are founded on the principles of trauma-informed care and Positive Youth Development toassist youth in reaching their potential andliving a successful life off the streets. Servicesinclude street outreach, a 136-bed shelter for youth ages 12 through 24, daytime drop-in services, supportive housing, education and employment services, case management, life skills courses, behavioral health evaluations, meals and more.
