HR Generalist - Benefits

Benton Harbor, MI (100% Onsite) $65,000-$75,000/year About the Role: Join a mission-driven organization and help enhance employee experience through strong benefits communication, administration, and compliance. You'll manage benefits programs, support HR initiatives, and lead projects that improve employee wellbeing. Key Responsibilities: Administer health, dental, vision, life, and retirement plans (403(b), 457(f), 401(a), pension).
Manage leaves (FMLA, disability, workers' comp).
Conduct benefits orientations and assist with claims and plan changes.
Ensure compliance with ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, and other regulations.
Coordinate wellness programs and benefits fairs.
Maintain and train on Employee Navigator.
Support HR projects and serve as backup for Compensation Generalist.
Qualifications: Bachelor's in HR, Business, or related field (required).
3+ years of benefits administration experience.
HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.
Experience with HRIS (Banner) and Employee Navigator a plus.
Strong Excel, communication, and problem-solving skills.
