The PR Manager enhances and executes consumer media relations for Milestone & Gifting and Style & Trend Brands including Kay, Zales, People and Banter, and assists with corporate media relations, as needed. This role is an integral part of the Communications team that helps educate and drive our company’s business strategy across all stakeholders. Reports to the Sr. Manager of PR for Kay, Zales, People and Banter. The PR Manager works closely with cross‑functional teams, including marketing and merchandising, to amplify brand differentiation, products, and services on external and internal platforms.
While this is a remote role, travel is required—events and Signet offices (Dallas, Texas and Akron, Ohio) as needed. Access to PR offices in NYC is also expected for 1:1 meetings with media and key talent. This is an evolving role; tasks may change as strategies evolve.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Supports the evolving of overall consumer media relations strategy, executive positioning, and messaging for KZPB to advance differentiation holistically and by brand.
Supports the development and execution of PR strategies, focusing on storytelling, media exposure, and product visibility to increase brand consideration among key audiences.
MEDIA RELATIONS
Manages daily consumer media relations activities, including supporting relationships with local, national and trade media and directing external agencies.
Creates and oversees Signet’s daily email “The Cut” highlighting corporate and consumer coverage, distributed company‑wide.
Prepares earned‑media opportunities to increase coverage with a focus on Tier 1 publications.
Writes press releases, media pitches, interview briefs, fact sheets and shepherds reviews, often time‑sensitive.
Builds targeted media lists and talent lists to ensure the right contacts for each initiative.
Works with merchandising and marketing to order PR samples and seeding materials aligned with key business initiatives.
Conducts weekly media scans and industry trend research across pop‑culture, social media, sports, fashion, music, and more to inform strategies.
Maintains internal gifting and sampling inventory, coordinating with marketing and merchandising for warehouse pulls.
Oversees Signet project grid and brand editorial calendars; supports drafting pitches and maintaining consistent brand coverage.
EVENT MANAGEMENT
Supports event ideation and execution: invite lists, creative ideation and décor, site checks, collaboration with merchandise on products, staffing, etc.
Supports organic influencer integration.
BRAND PARTNERSHIPS AND COLLABORATIONS
Actively seeks new brand partnership, activation, and sponsorship opportunities for PR and talent activities.
Vet opportunities with the Sr. PR Manager or independently as needed.
REPORTING & ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS
Performs additional duties and projects: shipping labels, inventory, ordering products, reporting, invoices, etc.
Guides measurement approach to gauge effectiveness of efforts and inform ongoing programming, budgets, and resource allocations.
Supports lookbook and asset building.
Builds decks and reports to share PM and cross‑functional insights monthly.
Reviews and edits all agency work before sharing with the broader team.
INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS
Supports corporate communications as needed (executive profiling, awards, panels, etc.).
Maintains the Signet project grid.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business, or related field with 4+ years experience in PR, media, etc.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong editing ability across platforms.
Corporate and agency experience with proven crisis‑communications management and brand integrity maintenance.
Established relationships with media, influencers, and talent to enhance brand visibility and drive engagement.
Excellent planning and organization with meticulous attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple concurrent projects.
Professional discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information.
Proactive communicator of strategy insights and innovative ideas to strengthen brand initiatives.
Adaptable to changing priorities with strong time management in fast‑paced environments.
