Quality Engineer Wasco Switches & Sensors

The Quality Engineer applies technical and problem‑solving skills to ensure products and processes meet quality requirements. This role supports corrective actions, risk management, and continuous improvement across the organization and supply chain.

Essential Functions

Process and Product Quality Support: Apply quality engineering principles to ensure product and process compliance with quality standards.

Root Cause and Corrective Actions: Lead investigations into quality issues and develop corrective action plans.

Data Analysis and Risk Management: Analyze data, conduct risk assessments, and support FMEA and other preventive quality tools.

Supplier and Customer Support: Work with suppliers and customers to address quality requirements and resolve issues.

Continuous Improvement: Support initiatives that improve process capability, reduce defects, and enhance efficiency.

Requirements Minimum Education

– Bachelor's degree preferred.

Minimum Experience

– 4 years in a full‑time engineering or quality‑related role required. Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Skills and Abilities

Technical Problem‑Solving: Understands the necessary elements of an operator controllable process and applies quality engineering methods and structured problem‑solving to resolve complex quality issues.

Root Cause Analysis Expertise: Uses tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, and FMEA to identify and prevent failures.

Data‑Driven Approach: Collects, analyzes, and interprets quality data to support decisions. Demonstrates firm command of descriptive statistics, intermediate or above Excel skills, and applies SPC and MSA in a factory setting.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partners with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure quality integration.

Standards Knowledge: Understands ISO 9001 and industry‑specific standards to ensure compliance.
