Unit Clerk Per Diem – Pediatrics (HOSP UNIT SVC CRD PD)

This position is responsible for performing reception and clerical functions for the nursing station; coordinating patient care activities with other departments, including answering call lights, arranging transport services for patients to other areas of the hospital, stocking supplies and forms, performing audits, and handling admissions, transfers, and discharges.

Minimum Qualifications
No minimum education required.
Recent experience working in a similar setting.
Knowledge of relevant medical terminology.
Effective communication and excellent customer service skills.

Support for performance improvement and evidence‑based practice within the scope of practice.
Basic understanding of technology related to federal regulations protecting patient privacy.

Effective interaction and communication with multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using an electronic medical records system.
Experience working in a children’s health care setting.

Department Overview Davis 7 Pediatrics consists of 36 beds including 6 private and 11 semi‑private rooms. University Tower 6 Pediatrics consists of 8 private rooms and 4 open bays. The purpose of the Pediatric Units is to provide acute care pediatric nursing and medical care to children aged 0–18. The approach focuses on both the child’s medical needs and an environment that supports growth and development, promoting family‑centered care and specialized pediatric care through collaboration with pediatricians, subspecialists, child life specialists, PT/OT, dietitians, and social workers.
