We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Bioinformatics Research Assistant to support ongoing translational research projects focused on gene regulation, cancer biology, and hematopoiesis. The successful candidate will assist in analyzing large‑scale sequencing datasets and contribute to the development of computational tools for data interpretation and visualization.

Education

Bachelor’s degree (or current graduate student) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Proficiency in R, Python, or similar programming languages for data analysis.

Experience

New grad with some relevant coursework.

0‑1 year preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and command‑line tools.

Basic understanding of molecular biology and genomics.

Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Careful attention to detail.

Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize a variety of tasks.

Computer literacy, including database tools.

Ability to follow directions and exhibit professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

Process and analyze next‑generation sequencing (NGS) data, including RNA‑seq, ATAC‑seq, ChIP‑seq, and related datasets.

Perform data cleaning, normalization, and statistical analysis.

Conduct differential expression and pathway enrichment analyses.

Integrate bioinformatics data with publicly available databases (e.g., TCGA, GEO, ENCODE).

Generate high‑quality figures and visualizations for presentations and manuscripts.

Maintain organized records of analyses, scripts, and results.

Collaborate with wet‑lab scientists to interpret computational findings in the context of experimental results.
