A highly skilled Senior Consultant Data Modeler who delivers data models meeting business requirements. The ideal candidate has strong client‑management and communication skills, along with a proven track record of end‑to‑end data engineering implementations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of conceptual, logical, and physical data models for the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), adhering to Kimball dimensional methodology. Design and implement star schemas (Fact and Dimension tables) for enterprise analytical, BI, and reporting requirements with high performance and query efficiency. Define and model Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD), emphasizing SCD Type 2 to capture historical context. Determine appropriate grain for fact tables and identify measurable facts and their relationships to dimensions. Design highly denormalized dimension structures to reduce joins and simplify querying. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and design data models aligned with business needs. Create and maintain data dictionaries and metadata repositories for consistency and integrity. Identify and resolve data model performance issues to optimize database performance. Manage and provide guidance to a small team of 1–3 resources. Document and communicate data models and standards across the organization. Create detailed source‑to‑target mapping (STM) documentation and ETL/ELT specifications, including SCD Type 2 logic and surrogate key rules. Stay current with industry best practices and incorporate new techniques into modeling processes. Guide the team on Kimball dimensional modeling techniques and best practices. Develop conceptual, logical, and physical models supporting data analysis and BI. Utilize data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin, PowerDesigner, ER/Studio) and manage version control.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in STEM. 7+ years of hands‑on data modeling experience. Strong understanding of SQL and Kimball dimensional modeling. Experience with enterprise relational or cloud data warehouses (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.). Deep knowledge of data warehousing, ETL/ELT, data quality, and metadata management. Mastery of SCD Type 2 implementation; familiarity with other SCD types. Ability to translate complex business requirements into precise technical models. Proficiency with data modeling tools (Erwin, Visio, PowerDesigner, etc.). Experience designing and implementing database structures. Effective performance tuning and query optimization skills. Cloud certification is an advantage. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and documentation skills. Knowledge of the Hospitality domain is mandatory.

Ideal Experience

Proven ability to navigate complex issues and make informed decisions. Experience supervising and guiding junior team members. Participation in sales opportunities and RFP responses. Cloud knowledge and/or certification (preferably Azure DP‑203). Passion for innovation and strategic use of emerging technologies. Spanish speaking; Italian speaking.

Benefits and Compensation

Comprehensive compensation and benefits package based on performance. Base salary range for all U.S. geographic locations: $106,900 – $176,500. Adjusted ranges for major metro areas (NYC, Washington, CA) are $128,400 – $200,600. Medical and dental coverage, pension, 401(k) plans, and extensive paid time off. Flexible hybrid work model; 40–60% in‑person collaboration expected. Flexible vacation policy with EY Paid Holidays, winter/summer breaks, and other leaves of absence.
