Field Employee Value Proposition – This role offers a unique leadership opportunity within the Commercial team at Taiho Oncology Inc. As a Regional Business Director (RBD), you will guide and develop the Oncology Account Managers (OAM) in your region, driving Taiho Oncology Inc’s approved product line to external customers with high visibility and impact.
Position Summary The RBD reports to the Senior National Sales Director and leads a team of Oncology Account Managers. Responsibilities include defining key account strategies, driving regional sales, developing short- and long-term business plans, and hiring, training, and motivating high‑talent account managers. The RBD collaborates cross‑functionally with Marketing, Market Access, and Commercial Operations to meet customer needs in the Northeast region.
Performance Objectives
Manage a region of Oncology Account Managers representing Taiho Oncology Inc.’s corporate philosophy, brand vision, and strategy.
Recruit, select, and develop talent to achieve competitive superiority in the market.
Translate strategy into region‑specific goals, objectives, and a business plan considering geography, payer landscape, and customer mix.
Proactively develop, review, and modify the regional business plan.
Interpret and communicate complex data to drive performance and productivity at the territory level.
Identify and secure necessary resources, people, and capital to facilitate alignment with matrix teams.
Develop and maintain relationships with key contacts and opinion leaders across the customer base.
Develop contingency plans and make trade‑off decisions in support of strategic priorities.
Lead change within the organization and ensure understanding and alignment around changes.
Manage the region’s operational and brand product budget and ensure appropriate allocation against region priorities.
Set measurable objectives, track and analyze performance data, and create a selling culture that differentiates products based on scientific expertise.
Achieve sales goals using approved materials and programs.
Maintain corporate compliance and uphold the TOI Compliance Code of Conduct.
Education / Certification
BA/BS degree in science and/or business‑related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Minimum 6+ years’ experience in oncology sales.
Minimum 3+ years’ experience in oncology sales management.
Working knowledge of geographic conditions and customer base.
Understanding of environmental and industry trends and their impact on business.
Top performance in field sales and field sales management.
Experience building and leading diverse teams.
Cross‑functional business experience (marketing, access, medical).
Ability to formulate an effective business plan.
Strong interpersonal communication and high‑level customer engagement skills.
Positive, flexible, and proactive attitude.
General understanding of oncology and the cancer care delivery macro‑environment.
Understanding of oncology reimbursement, including orals, and the payer customer segment.
Experience assessing and communicating oncology access issues to external customers.
Learning agility for acquiring solid product and disease‑state knowledge.
Travel Requirements 25–49%
Compensation Base salary: $216,750 – $255,000 annually, plus potential annual bonus, long‑term incentive plans, and discretionary awards. Full‑range benefits include medical, financial, and other benefits such as 401(k), paid time off, and parental leave.
