Import Compliance Specialist
in
Fort Worth, TX
for a
12-month contract-to-hire
position. This role supports import entry processing, documentation accuracy, and compliance with
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP)
regulations in a fast-paced logistics and supply chain environment. The position follows a
Tuesday-Friday schedule, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Required Skills
2-3 years of experience
with
brokerage provider or freight forwarder
coordination for U.S. import processing 2-3 years of experience applying 19 CFR regulations
to import transactions (Parts 24, 101, 102, 111, 134, 141-143, 152) 2-3 years of experience classifying products using the HTSUS
(Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States) Intermediate proficiency in
Microsoft Office Suite
(Outlook, Word, Excel) Strong understanding of
commercial invoice elements
and import documentation requirements Ability to
research, interpret, and apply trade compliance regulations
accurately Excellent written and verbal communication skills for professional correspondence across departments Preferred Skills
Experience with
SAP/GTS (Global Trade Services)
or other ERP systems supporting trade compliance Associate degree
in Business, Supply Chain, or related discipline Familiarity with
CBP Informed Compliance Publications ,
Explanatory Notes ,
CROSS rulings , and
Customs Bulletin/Federal Register
references Understanding of
entry filing procedures , importer of record (IOR) identification, and documentation flow Prior experience in
aerospace or defense logistics environments Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with an eye for process accuracy Responsibilities
Process
routine entry instruction requests
for import shipments Research and resolve missing or incorrect shipment data, escalating complex issues as necessary Review
inbound commercial invoices
and shipment documentation for accuracy and compliance Classify products under the
HTSUS
for straightforward import categories Verify
importer of record
(IOR) details and ensure "right to make entry" compliance Maintain and update data within
SAP/GTS
or related systems Communicate professionally with
brokers, freight forwarders, and internal teams
regarding shipment status and documentation Prepare and track import records, ensuring compliance with U.S. customs regulations Support special projects, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives within the trade compliance team

import operations and customs classification
within a defense and aerospace environment.
