DISCLOSURE: This role can be fulfilled either as a W-2 employee or as an independent contractor (1099). Candidates must select their preferred engagement type upon applying. Scope of Service: Co-Occurring Disorder Counselor – Independent Contractor. Classification: Contract Position (1099). Fee-for-service. Disclosure – Multi-Entity Contractor Role: This role spans two organizations under shared leadership: Lighthouse Behavioral Health Center and Community Wellness Outpatient Mental Health Center. You will maintain separate contractual agreements with each entity and invoice/receive compensation separately. Workload: Approximately 40 hours per week over 5 days, with roughly half allocated to each organization. Scheduling and care coordination may be collaborative while each entity maintains own scope of work, compliance, and payment processes. You are responsible for taxes, benefits, and liability coverage and must adhere to contractual terms and professional licensing requirements. Overview: Assigned clients reside in community-based group homes or other approved locations. The contractor will provide outpatient substance use disorder treatment services, schedule and facilitate group and individual counseling, conduct assessments, and complete documentation within the designated service period. A sample of deliverables includes completion of initial treatment plans, monthly reviews, diagnostic assessments, ongoing documentation in ICANotes, and coordination with internal/external teams. Documentation & Compliance: Maintain documentation meeting CARF, Medicaid, and COMAR standards; participate in fidelity reviews, audits, and supervision; manage invoices and billing; ensure timely session notes and programmatic documentation. Licensure & Qualifications: Maryland licensure in one of several recognized disciplines (LCADC, LGADC, CAC-AD, CSCAD, ADT, LCPC, LGPC, LCSW-C, LCSW, LMSW, LBSW, LCMFT, LGMF, Psychologist, and related roles; student interns allowed). You will be a W-2 employee of each organization with onboarding, HR, and compliance managed by each entity. Hours total 40/week across the network. Division/Unit: Operations. Accountable to: Operations Manager 2. Benefits & Schedule: Benefits include PTO, health/dental/vision insurance reimbursement, professional development support, retirement plan, and supplemental disability insurance. Work schedule typically 4–5 eight-hour days per week, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Compensation ranges from $50,000 to $167,560 per year depending on credentials and experience. Anticipated travel up to 10%. Work Conditions: Community-based offices or hybrid settings; potential exposure to emotional/crisis situations; collaborative clinical environment.
