**Job Summary:** The Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Program Manager is responsible for planning, administering, and managing safety, health and fire safety programs throughout the hospital to ensure compliance with local, state, federal laws, regulations and standards. The role develops and implements environmental management programs, conducts inspections and monitoring, manages interactions with regulatory agencies, and ensures compliance with Joint Commission (TJC) standards.

Essential Functions

Advise management and staff on safety protocols and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.

Investigate, research and recommend best practices for health and safety management.

Conduct environmental safety rounding, staff training, fire drills and emergency evacuation training.

Perform safety inspections and develop safety manuals, policies, and procedures.

Lead Joint Commission (TJC), fire/life safety regulatory compliance audits; review records, interview personnel and recommend corrective actions.

Develop and conduct mandated Environment of Care (EOC) audits and environmental assessments.

Prepare and present audit reports to leadership and various committees; analyze data and recommend improvements.

Develop, implement, and continuously update safety and environmental health policies to meet local, state, and federal regulations.

Identify resources needed for program management; prepare annual budgetary requirements.

Manage all aspects of the Laser Safety program (as assigned).

Participate with external task forces, committees and agencies related to health and safety management.

Analyze root causes and recommend corrective actions for audit findings.

Negotiate compliance issues with regulatory agencies and track responses to citations or violations.

Implement day‑to‑day management of the Environment of Care (EOC), TJC/Fire Safety plans, budgets, schedules and performance requirements.

Assist contractors in meeting TJC/EOC regulatory compliance standards as part of the OCIP Safety Manager partnership.

Qualifications Education:

Bachelor's degree in a work‑related discipline/field from an accredited college or university.

Experience:

Four (4) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.

License/Certification:

CA Driver's License by Department of Motor Vehicles.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Speak and write effectively at a level appropriate for the job.

Knowledge of accident investigations.

Knowledge of computer systems and software used in this functional area.

Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements related to this area of responsibility.

Knowledge of new technologies and ability to keep abreast of updates and changes.

Knowledge of principles and practices of organization, administration, fiscal and personnel management.

Knowledge of TJC‑EOC standards and auditing.

Minimum Qualifications Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications, is qualifying.

Additional Information Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, and internal equity and market data. Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range. Minimum to Midpoint Range (Hourly): $53.98 to $71.57.
