Hybrid OTD Program Director – School of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Sciences (SPTRS), University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. Full‑time (12‑month, 1.0 FTE), beginning Spring 2026.
This newly created 12‑month, full‑time faculty position reports directly to the Director of SPT&RS/Associate Dean of the Morsani College of Medicine. The role involves developing an innovative hybrid Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) program, leading curriculum and accreditation efforts, faculty recruitment and mentoring, research, and program budget stewardship.
Responsibilities
Develop and oversee the hybrid OTD program, including curriculum, program assessment, and accreditation.
Lead OTD program faculty selection, leadership, development, and mentoring in innovative teaching approaches.
Pursue research and scholarship that supports program excellence.
Manage the OTD program budget.
Handle administrative responsibilities within SPTRS related to the Hybrid OTD program.
Minimum qualifications
Initial certification as an occupational therapist.
Current license to practice as an occupational therapist in any U.S. jurisdiction and eligibility for licensure in Florida.
Doctoral degree awarded by an institution accredited by a USDE-recognized accrediting agency.
Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in occupational therapy, including clinical practice, administration, scholarship, and understanding of the occupational therapy assistant role.
Active AOTA membership.
Minimum of four (4) years of full‑time post‑baccalaureate education experience.
Understanding of ACOTE accreditation standards and requirements.
Desire to teach in area of expertise.
Meet University criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor.
Preferred qualifications
Academic administrative experience.
Experience measuring program outcomes.
Strong record of scholarly/research productivity and dissemination, with a focus on the scholarship of teaching and learning.
Documented experience and accomplishments in inter‑professional education and academic endeavors.
Experience with academic accreditation processes.
Experience in administration of hybrid programs.
Experience teaching in hybrid programs.
Experience with recruitment, supervision, and evaluation of faculty.
History of University and/or Association service.
