Oversee all accounting functions including AR, AP, general ledger, and payroll.

Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded, reconciled, and reported in QuickBooks Online.

Own the month‑end and year‑end close process—reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis.

Review and approve journal entries, expense allocations, and intercompany transactions.

Ensure GAAP compliance and coordinate with tax preparers for timely filings.

Prepare and deliver accurate monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) with commentary.

Develop dashboards and key metrics to monitor performance—gross margin %, AR aging, cost per move, etc.

Analyze trends and identify opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency.

Deliver monthly reporting packages with actionable insights for ownership.

Reconcile factoring company transactions and ensure timely posting of receivables and advances.

Cash Flow Management

Monitor daily cash balances and manage short‑term liquidity.

Develop and maintain rolling 12‑week cash flow forecasts to anticipate needs.

Prepare weekly cash reports summarizing inflows, outflows, and risks.

Align disbursement timing with receivables to optimize working capital.

Work with operations to better align billing cycles and payment schedules.

Budgeting & Forecasting

Partner with ownership and CFO firm to develop annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts.

Track actual performance against budget and explain significant variances.

Build forecasting models for revenue, COGS, and overhead to guide decision‑making.

Support scenario planning for hiring, expansion, and capital investments.

Process, Systems & Internal Controls

Implement and document internal controls that ensure financial integrity.

Streamline AR/AP, reimbursement, and approval workflows for scalability.

Lead automation efforts across accounting functions to reduce manual work.

Ensure all data and documentation are audit‑ready and organized.

Establish SOPs for all finance and accounting processes.

Supervise and mentor the AR/bookkeeping team to ensure performance and accountability.

Collaborate closely with operations to align financial data with performance metrics.

Partner with the CFO firm for financial modeling, forecasting, and strategic planning.

Present financial updates clearly to ownership and leadership.

Act as the internal financial advisor — translating numbers into decisions.

Growth & Strategic Finance

Evaluate expansion opportunities and new business lines from a financial perspective.

Build scalable reporting systems as revenue grows past $15M+.

Monitor long‑term profitability trends and recommend operational improvements.

Assist with valuation modeling and readiness for potential investor or private equity discussions.

90‑Day Priorities

Gain full visibility and control of all accounting systems and workflows.

Deliver accurate, timely monthly financials within 10 days of month‑end.

Implement a 12‑week rolling cash flow forecast.

Identify and begin executing 3–5 process improvements.

Establish a consistent financial reporting rhythm with ownership and leadership.

Core Skills & Attributes

Deep understanding of accounting and finance principles (GAAP).

Proficient in QuickBooks Online, Excel/Google Sheets, and financial modeling.

Paid Time Off (PTO) and observed holidays.

Remote flexibility with quarterly in‑person meetings in New York.

Leadership team position with direct influence on company performance.
